MEMBER'S JOINING PACK - SEASON 2011 - 12

Club Membership

Only players who are paid members of the club will be available for selection for official league and cup games. The first official games start on either 10th or 17th September 2011. New members will be given two weeks grace to decide whether or not they wish to join the club and therefore be required to pay the club membership in order to be selected.

Membership Fees for Men

Games are on Saturdays. Membership for men is £60 (£50 before August 31st 2011) plus a £10 match fee per game .

Membership Fees for Women

Games are on Sundays. Membership for women is £50 (£40 before August 31st 2011) plus a £8 match fee per game.

Selection Policy

The Southern Amateur League states that “in all matches in which it competes, each Club shall play its strongest team in its 1st XI, its second strongest team in its 2nd XI and so on” and that “clubs are expected to hold regular selection meetings or a comparable electronic selection programme to select sides of relative sectional strength”. It is these rules, along with the fact that all players are members of Merton Football Club and should be available for selection for any team that informs the selection policy of Merton Football Club. Training

Each player is responsible for their own physical fitness. Attendance at training is encouraged and preferable but not yet compulsory, however training is likely to affect selection and there may be occasions when attendance is required. Training takes place at St Marks Academy, Acacia Road, Mitcham, CR4 1SF on Wednesday evenings from 8pm - 9.30pm but we advise arriving around 7.30pm for warm up and stretching exercises.
