As of 13th December 2017, training has now stopped for the Christmas period and will be back on from 3rd January. This will be an excellent time for those to burn off all that Christmas indulging.

On the 22nd December we are holding another Christmas jump off, although this time the WHOLE club is going to get involved!

Seniors, youth, parents, old boys – get yourselves down there for a cracking night of Christmas drinks, carol singing competitions & merriment. You’ll also get a chance to get to know people across all parts of our club that you might not otherwise chat to.

The festivities start at 6:30pm and everyone and anyone is invited. Food will be served, the usual Xmas jump off will take place, and there will be other fun and games too!

A Disappointing result from tne 1s losing at home 3-1 to Ibis Eagles was the only disappointment today. Crusher MOM and Vanny DOTD no surprises there. The 2s carried on their good from with a hard fought victory against a very strong Old Blues 2-0 goals from Tom Benham and a great header from Alann Clowes securing him Man Most Handsome. Wilgo and Nick Van Windscreen sharing DOTD for missing sitters 3s and 4s no games but the 5s had a cracking 2-0 cup win against Old Parks Neal Davison (MOM) Goals from Denys and Aaron. 6s won 2-1 but 7s came from 4-0 down to win 6-4 …Wow Niall 3 Josh, luke and David the second half scorers. Some disappointing results from the Hood where we observed a respectful minutes silence for those who gave their lives. The 1s lost a hard fought cup tie 2-1 to Wandsworth Boro. We lead 2-1 through Aaron Loftus on his debut but a strong second half saw the visitors through to the next round. The 2s bowed out of their cup 3-0 to Old Finchleans on a day where little went their way home. The 3s lost 4-2 at Kew. (Denys and Darcy scored) The 4s had no game for one of tghe better outcomes but the 5s beat Norsemen 4-1 in the cup with some really good goals in a good performance.(Aaron Byrne MOM with a hat trick) Darren Avey DOD and thinks he was stitched up.) The 6s lost 3-2 to old Parks and the 7s lost 8-2 to old Alleyns where they cleared the casual water off the pitch.. Shame!

Another good day of results for our Youth today. Here’s how they fared…

A big shout out to one of our favourite sons, McKenzie (pictured with Steve), who made his 100th appearance for Merton FC today. It’s also his 14th birthday tomorrow – lots to celebrate. A truly lovely lad who is a great credit to both Steve and the club

Todays Results.

1s lose 1-0 at CEV (Harrison MOM and James Gray DOD) 2s draw 2-2 with Hampstead Heathens (Scorers Wilgo and DQ. ) 2-0 down but great fightback. 3s no Game with SAL newcomers City of London pulling out on Thursday evening and taking advantage of SAL’s new rule. 4s beat Civil Service 6s 3-1 (Goals from Dom Plumridge and Aaron Loftus 2) 5s draw 3-3 at Old Wilsons (Goals Aaron Byrne, Dulanie Richards Phil Truman (MOM) 6s win 3-1 against Civil Service (Tony Chaplin 2, George Brobbey) and 7s have an epic 4-3 win at Old Salesians Billy 2 Ryan 2) and it was Ryan in the 94th minute that got the 3pts. But Mustard and the 3s were celebrating the boys significant birthday.

In today’s early kick off at the Hood our vets went under 6-2 to OWCs Vets. After going 3-0 down fairly early on we pulled it back to 3-2 but superior something (perhaps everything) told in the end. Return game on the Annual Long Good Friday. But great spirit and enjoyment in the bar aswell!!!!
