Football Fit in Sutton and Morden

This is a new venture and so a chance to start at the beginning of something I hope to grow. Just because you’ve let yourself go a bit don’t let that trick you into thinking you can’t be better.

A group personal training session you can really enjoy !

So the result is in……Having been 4-0 down at the break, a solid second half performance wasn’t enough against a very good Polish side who won the game 6-3. Goal scorers were Andy Bitmead (2) and Darren Avey with a penalty (videos to follow). Dick of the Day goes to Luke Newman. Turns out that getting tanked up the day of the game wasn’t the best idea! Man of the Match was the keeper kindly donated to us by the opposition. Merton Man of the Match was John Katandika after a solid defensive display even though Merton Conceded 6. We couldn’t have played against a nicer bunch off lads. Kept it clean yet competitive. A massive shout out to the referee too. Kept it fair and professional. Time to head off back to the hotel to get ready before heading back for a night out in Gdańsk. 🇵🇱🐗⚽️🍺

Awards Night and Champions League Final – another great night at the Hood.

Aaron Ackerman wins Club Person of the year and Dave Golding Club Player of the Year both for their tremendous work this season. Congratulations to both for their popular and well deserved awards.

Thanks to Clappers, Sherbs, Iain Evans for organising it all and as ever our bar staff.

Champions – It has been a fantastic week for London clubs in Europe(Chelsea,Spurs,Arsenal) and Merton have rounded it all up with a great win of the Algarve 11s tournament winning all their games, Terrific performance winning a very good final 2-0 with goals from Pritch , a great free kick and Jimbo. Well done boys!!!

Good news folks… membership fees for next season will be kept the same at £90 for next season. And you can now pay it off in three £30 installments if you prefer, starting now. If this is how you wish to do it, please contact Darren Avey, who will set up the Slate events for you…

This weekend 11th May 2019, a Merton team is heading off to Albufeira to play in the Algarve trophy. We are sending a strong team of first class drinkers and bon viveurs some of whom are also not bad at footy. The pics show competition schedule and the stadium and the boys who won it last time we entered and the goal that won it for us. Have a great time and the very best of luck . Enjoy apres footy and karaoke.Sorry not to be coming with you!!!!

The always-excellent annual Awards Night will be taking place at the Hood on Saturday 1st June. It’s a 4:30 for 5pm start, with the awards aspect comprising the first couple of hours, followed by the Liverpool vs Tottenham in the Champions League final (8pm KO). After last night’s magic, and with flights to Madrid already prohibitive, there’s no better place to watch it than at your beloved Hood. For those who want food (fish or sausage), it’s a tenner incl free drink. Let us know what you would like to via Facebook. Should be another brilliant Merton night. All Merton players, friends and supporters welcome!
