26th November 2022 - 1s = 3 - 1 Old Lyonians; 2s = 0 - 1 Civil Service; 3s = No Game; 4s = No Game; 5s = 0 - 3 Old Blues; Vets = 3 - 4 Motspur Park

The 1s ran into a very strong West Wickham side who beat us 5-1 scoring some terrific goals and playing some really good passing football. We will improve on this. Some good performances from our lads Vanny, Siri, Rat, Sam, Harrison and many more but with so many new faces we need a little more time to gel but very promising. West Wickham is a lovely place to go even if you do lose 5-1 and it was an enjoyable afternoon. Thanks for the game !!!

Games Night

On Saturday 26th August from 2pm, we’ll be having pre-season friendlies and an inter-club game. All games will be at the Hood (and possibly Raynes Park too if we can’t get two pitches). Given that we’ll all be in the vicinity of the Hood that day, our resident BBQ-master Darren Avey will be working his magic once again – for your benefit. So please do come on down chaps. Food will likely be served around 5pm, bar will be buzzing and the Man U vs Leicester will be on telly. A good old jolly to start the season! It will also be a good time to pay your membership.

The 3s/4s lost 5-2 but we had goals from Dom Plumridge and Aaron Loftus. 5s/6s and 7s drew 2 – 2 against West Wickham.

These are the current scheduled friendlies for each team, arranged until the start of the season.  If you are interested in playing please contact one of the team managers with your availability.

Saturday 09/09/17 SEASON STARTS

When we arrived at the venue Polytechnic were just finishing a testimonial for their excellent and long serving Centre backs Messers, Banford and Checkitt. This is now going to be a traditional event to celebrate retiring players. Poly are one of the SAL’s top clubs winning Div 1 The AFA Senior cup and the SAL Senior cup. We play them next week at the Hood. (Pic of the Poly boys)

Today’s Results. The 1s ran into a very strong BOE side and lost 4-0. Very high quality game and BOE were very impressive and should hold their own in Div 1 on this showing. The 2s beat BOE 5-3 in another good game with Chris Rayner and DQ both scoring twice. Denys also scored. We had at least 10 new members playing and showed strength in depth.

Merton Golf Day and what a day! Thanks to Toddy for organising, managing it, scoring it and do everything to make this a great success. 28 competitors at the Oaks in Carshalton had a great time. Kevin Locke ran out the winner with 43 points and the better ball pairs was won by Andrew Dobson and Chris Savory after a nail biting putt off. Great fun!! Our president presents the cup to Lockey and Chris and Andrew relax after their triumph.

Andy and Chris pairs winners
Kevin individual winner
