Another good training session at the Hood with 40+ attending. Thanks to Clappers, iain and Nile for organising the workout and our new fitness trainer Vuyo Saunders for torturing the lads. But its all for their own good with the season starting in September and pre season friendlies starting this weekend. At the Club’s AGM held after the session all the resolutions were passed so Clubs fees stay the same for next season.

Great fun at Merton’s golf day. Thanks to Toddy for organising it all. Winners on the day were Gareth and Jimbo with an outrageous 50 pts better ball score with Gareth getting six points on one par five with an albatross holing his second shot. Sherbs won the singles prize with 38 pts and Chris Rayner nearest the pin and Pat Papanastasiou the longest drive. Great day with the footy season about to kick off.

Yesterday saw the start of our pre season friendlies with the customary Matches against the Bank of England. The 1s/2s managed a 2-0 win (josh and George) but the 3s/4s lost 2-1 (Dave Golding Pen.) Pics show the usual suspects downing penalty pints in our post match ritual but also showcase our excellent blue change strip with our legendary pink socks!! Good results against a very strong club but even better news we have just taken delivery of a new supply of pink tape. All set fair for the season!!!

Great turnout at training tonight! 40-odd in attendance and a good mix of old faces and new. Roll on next week!

Football Fit in Sutton and Morden

This is a new venture and so a chance to start at the beginning of something I hope to grow. Just because you’ve let yourself go a bit don’t let that trick you into thinking you can’t be better.

A group personal training session you can really enjoy !

So the result is in……Having been 4-0 down at the break, a solid second half performance wasn’t enough against a very good Polish side who won the game 6-3. Goal scorers were Andy Bitmead (2) and Darren Avey with a penalty (videos to follow). Dick of the Day goes to Luke Newman. Turns out that getting tanked up the day of the game wasn’t the best idea! Man of the Match was the keeper kindly donated to us by the opposition. Merton Man of the Match was John Katandika after a solid defensive display even though Merton Conceded 6. We couldn’t have played against a nicer bunch off lads. Kept it clean yet competitive. A massive shout out to the referee too. Kept it fair and professional. Time to head off back to the hotel to get ready before heading back for a night out in Gdańsk. 🇵🇱🐗⚽️🍺
