Todays Results: 1s win away 3-1 at Lea Valley to progress in AFA Senior Cup. 2s (pic) lose 4-2 at home to Norsemen in a poor game. 3s (pic) lose 6-5 to West Wickham in Junior Cup. Really battling 2nd half performance with some great goals. 4-1 down and 5-4 up. 5s lost 3-1 at Old Wilsons and 6s lost 9-4 to City of London.

1st team 5 yellow cards
2nd team 4 yellow cards
3rd team 4 yellow cards plus 3 red cards.
4th team 2 yellow cards

The Disciplinary panel has already had to give suspensions to 5 players !
the AFA have suspended 3 players.
At this stage of the season this is just not good enough. given that we are at the moment not fielding all 6 teams on a weekly basis as well.
Gentlemen you must adhere to the laws of the game and curb your behaviour on the field of play.
I urge you to read & comply with the rules and regulations laid down in the players charter of Merton Football Club. You were all given a copy on joining this season. I would also point out the club Disciplinary code that you can find on the Disciplinary page here on the website.

Saturdays Results
1s win 4-2 away at Bank of England in AFA S/K cup. Ackers Hat trick and Vanny. A very good win against a committed BOE team. 2s lose 3-1 at home to Old Acts in SAL Inter Div 2. 3rd team lost by 5 – 0 to top of the table Norseman. 5s travelled to Walthamstow to play Egbertians in a cup game losing 4 – 3.

Only 3 games played this weekend, the 1s played Old Salesians at their new ground in Ewell beating the 3 – 2, two goals by Chisanga (one a left foot screamer) and Snooks. The 2s played Carshalton at home beating them 3 – 0. The 3s game got called off due to Southgate not having enough players. The 4s and 5s didn’t have a game. The 6s played Old Suttonians in the AFA Intermediate Novets Cup losing 2 – 1 with their winning goal in the last seconds of the final whistle.
