Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity’s behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

This is going to be tough, I haven’t done any exercise since I stopped playing football about 5-6 years ago. I eat a lot of junk food, and consume more than I should in alcohol but this is all about to change. some of you may have known Craig and some of you not but he was a great smart lad who just loved football. I first met him through Alex Bocking traveling away with Ipswich on the supporters coach and we had some great trips. I decided to run for Teenage Cancer Trust after seeing the ward that Craig was in whilst going through something no one should ever have to. they do a lot and try to make things as comfortable as possible and this charity still needs a lot of help to continue doing the work they do so more people have access to these great facilities. miss you mate xx

Ok you’ve seen the videos now for the results. Team Handsome won the Quiz. They turned up mob handed almost more than we use to get on a regular Saturday afternoon klast season and cantered in chased by Europe Who? ((the 1s) and Starship Fozzy, the Legends etc. Despite Cocktail hour it was a relatively abstemious affair with people concentrating hard on the quiz in hand (Ed – Shurely shum Mishtake). Things livened up a little with the music round. Big Thanks to Sherbs the quiz master, the Gals behind the bar, the Dodge, Lenners for helping out, all those who turned up and made a premature effort to drink the bar dry, Whistle stop for the food etc etc etc Well done a great night down at the Hood.

Today’s Results.

Goals galore at the Hood but not for the 1s who lost 3-1 to Civil Service (Jonny scored and shared MOM with Crusher) Vanny DOD.

2s won an AFA Inter Cup game at HSBC 4-2 AET 2-2 FT. Chas hat trick and Ackers. Chas MOM and Sherbs DOD for being late. His chauffeur turned up late.
4s won 5-3 Aaron Hatrick.
6s and 7s both won yes but both 11-0 For the 6s Tony scored 6 and for the 7s Ryan got 4 and was MOM but Billy scored 2 but still got DOD for missing from 2yds (harsh)

3s and 5s had no fixture this weekend.

Pics mainly from 2s but also the Hood bar where things are warming up for quiz. Should be a good night.!!!!!

So onto the results from today then.

1s lost 3-2 to Alleyn Old Boys in the AFA CUP, despite a brace from Sam Harvey.
2s suffered their first defeat of the season, going down 2-1 at Norseman 2s.
3s produced an inspired display to beat Nottsborough 2-1 – Tom Benham & Dan Kelly the goalscoring heroes. Celebration video posted earlier (a must-watch)
4s were very unlucky to go down 3-2 at Dorkinians 4s in the Cup, having led 2-1.
In the big showdown of the Merton 5s & 6s, it was Kev’s charges who did the business, putting the 5s to the sword with a 4-1 win. One sad feature of the game was a bad knee injury to Clive (pictured). Get well soon matey.
As for the 7s, an “experienced” team put in a good performance against Corinthian Casuals U21s in the SAL Cup, eventually going down 4-1. They’ll be a force in the league though.

Well done to all, and let’s keep the good momentum going into next weekend (which is also quiz night!).

A breathless day of football; goals aplenty, and some remarkable results to boot (just one defeat across the club in 90 mins, in fact). Here goes:

1s beat West Wickham in the AFA SURREY CUP. 2-2 at full time, but snaffled the penalty shootout 4-2 (Clappers nudging in the final penalty)
2s drew 1-1 with Cambridge Heath 2s; Gabby Draghici scoring a worldie/benefiting from a keeper howler
Grab a beer before this one… the 3s game finished 4-4 during normal time against Old Finchleians 4s. At the end of extra time, it was 6-6!! Alas, the penalty shootout went awry (0-3), but cracking effort from the 3s.
4s drew 2-2 at IBIS Eagles 5s after being 2-0 down, with stand-in keeper veteran John Gridley saving a penalty
5s picked up their first win of the season, coming back to win 2-1 against HSBC 5s
6s drew 3-3 against City of London 3s after some confusion about KO times. Another cliffhanger!
7s went down 7-1 to a very strong Old Salesians 3s

Really great effort all round lads!

Pictured: 5s goal scorers Dulanie and Josh; a celebrating 5s team; and then a celebrating chairman across the pond!

4s having a few Beers with the Boys After playing Football Today, we Drew 2-2 and I was the hero as I Saved A Penalty after My son Danny Gridley hacked someone down ( he owes me One! )

4s having a beer
Chairman Max in the USA having a beer
5s having a beer
