Time is running out to join our new Last Man Standing predictor game. Cut-off to join is 5pm on Friday (as the first Premier League game is on Friday night). Remember, it is a £5 entry fee (winner takes 70% the pot, rest to the club), and you make your picks through the Tippd app https://web.tippd.co/game/QRuDGAaC8kicwsQAemHXCQ. Contact Darren Avey via private message, email or text to get involved.

In order to make the £5 payment, you need to be signed up to the Slate app (email sent to you earlier this week). Use the email address you used when signing on. If you are struggling, please message Darren who can assist. In the meantime, get involved, and happy predicting!

Merton Football Club’s AGM will take place on Wednesday 25th July 2018 at 20.30.  This will commence after that evenings training session. Please feel free to attend.

Calling all you guys who care about your club! As you know we are funded solely by our members & cash is hard to come by.

Our landlords Merton council are reluctant to commit to spending money on improving our building at Joseph Hood. Therefore we are left to do it ourselves.

This summer we would like to decorate the clubhouse, dressing rooms and other areas both inside and out. 

To keep costs down we are appealing to you as caring members of your club to help us improve your Saturday home ….

It is not important what skills you have, just help out with all kinds of jobs. 

There are a few minor electrical jobs as well as some plumbing. The main issues are painting, cleaning the outside & the fencing …

If you can spare a few hours to help, it would be very much appreciated by all. 

The club will of course provide refreshments & snacks to keep you going…..

Paint, brushes, rollers, cleaning materials etc’ will also be provided by the club……

If you could let me know if you can help and when, I and the members will be so pleased that you all helped to make the Hood a better place to be on a Saturday afternoon/evening …..

No matter how you can offer your support will be fantastic….

Hon President Merton Football Club

Calling all you fine Mertonians, it’s time to shake off the summer bellies as pre-season training commences on WEDNESDAY 18th JULY at our beloved Joseph Hood Recreation Ground (SW20 9BU), starting at 7pm, and finishing at 8:30pm. All newcomers interested in joining the club are welcome to attend too.

Training will be the usual mix of fitness, drills and a practice match, and you are advised to bring your own kit (bibs will be provided), and suitable boots for what is likely to be a firm grass pitch.

Training will run every Wednesday thereafter at the Hood, while Saturday pre-season friendlies get under way from Saturday 4 August (season proper starts early September). That gives you three weeks to whip yourself into respectable shape, so that we can start the season on the front foot!

Look forward to seeing you all then, as we embark upon what should be another highly enjoyable year for our great club…
